Géraldine où les mystères de la reliure
Relieuse et restauratrice de livres anciens Geraldine Venant Mouroux pratique son art en indépendante depuis 2005.
Sa formation repose sur un double cursus : universitaire section histoire de l’art et technique en reliure et restauration de livres . A l’occasion de la soirée « De poudre, de Cendre et d’Or ». Géraldine a réalisé la jaquette du livre en cuir marqueté recouvert de feuilles d’or. Elle est parti d’un cuir brut qu’elle a ensuite redécoupé,patiné, puis assemblé pour finalement le recouvrir de feuilles d’or.
Son savoir-faire reconnu en tant que maître d’art a permis à l’ensemble des invités d’apprécier la délicatesse et la beauté de ce savoir- faire ancestral ! Un grand merci à cette grande dame de la reliure!
Géraldine or the mystery of book binding :
Binder and restorer of old books Geraldine Venant Mouroux has been practicing her art independently since 2005.
Her training is based on a double cursus: university section history of art and technique in binding and restoration of books. For the occasion of the evening « Powder, Ash and Gold » Géraldine realized the book jacket inlaid leather covered with gold leaf. She left a rawhide she then cut, weathered, then assembled to finally cover it with gold leaf.
Her know-how, recognized as a master of art, allowed all guests to appreciate the delicacy and beauty of this ancestral know-how! A big thank you to this great lady of binding !
