Alexandre Mehring, le magicien de l’image
A l’occasion de l’exposition MASQUES Alexandre Mehring s’est occupé de la direction artistique. Son oeil de réalisateur a donné à la scénographie une dimension très contemporaine et ludique, permettant ainsi une transversalité artistique entre le théâtre et le cinéma.
Il est le fils de l’artiste GRILLON et du metteur en scène WOLFRAM MEHRING. Il a d’ailleurs souhaité avec l’exposition rendre hommage aux créations de sa mère. Après avoir obtenu son bac littéraire, Alexandre Mehring quitte le circuit académique pour consacrer toute son énergie au cinéma. Passionné par les images, le montage et la réalisation, il devient rapidement un cinéaste autodidacte. Après avoir écrit, réalisé et produit son premier court-métrage (Tricycle) à 23 ans, il est sélectionné dans de nombreux festivals et attire rapidement l’attention des sociétés de productions publicitaires.
Au cours des quinze années qui suivent, Alexandre écrit et produit d’autres courts-métrages (A deux sur la comète, La vraie nature, Made in Taiwan), qui sont sélectionnés et primés dans des festivals du monde entier. Parallèlement, Alexandre commence une carrière de réalisateur dans le monde de la publicité et réalise environ 150 films pour les marchés français et internationaux. Il s’exerce également sur la production de courts-métrages d’autres réalisateurs. En 2011, Alexandre écrit et réalise un moyen-métrage (Voûte Plantaire), sous le nom de sa nouvelle société de production, Bacon Brothers Prod.
Actuellement, il développe un long métrage, « SOUS LES PAVÉS » et prépare son huitième court-métrage « AU REVOIR VICTOR ».
Alexandre Mehring : The magician of the image
On the occasion of the exhibition MASQUES Alexandre Mehring took care of the artistic direction of the exhibition. His director’s eye gave the scenography a very contemporary and playful dimension, thus allowing an artistic transversality between the theater and the video.
He is the son of the artist GRILLON and of the director WOLFRAM MEHRING. He also wished with the exhibition to pay tribute to his mother’s creations.
After obtaining his literary graduation, Alexandre Mehring leaves the academic circuit to devote all his energy to the cinema. Passionated about images, editing and directing, he quickly became a self-taught filmmaker. After writing, directing and producing his first short film (Tricycle) at age 23, he is selected in many festivals and quickly attracts the attention of advertising production companies.
Over the next fifteen years, Alexandre wrote and produced other short films (A Two on the Comet, The True Nature, Made in Taiwan), which have been selected and awarded at festivals around the world. At the same time, Alexandre began a career as a director in the world of advertising and made about 150 films for the French and international markets. He also works on the production of short films by other directors.
In 2011, Alexandre wrote and directed a medium-length film (Arch of Plantar), under the name of his new production company, Bacon Brothers Prod.
Currently, he is developing a feature film « SOUS LES PAVÉS » and is preparing his eighth short film « AU REVOIR VICTOR ».
