A journey in 4 colours with Nina Barbé, founder of the EVI association!
The Association 4 couleurs is pleased to support the documentary project "Des vies dansent" by Nina Barbé, Leila Macaire (co-director) and her team. A dancer and actress, she is the founder of the association EVI.
This documentary film deals with the universal language of dance across several continents. What I liked about Nina's approach is that she also wants to use this art form to make children aware of the environment. We accompanied her during her dance show SAMAN for which the designer Claire Chataigner had lent the costumes.
The association 4 couleurs has been a partner for several months on this magnificent project which seems an "obvious" one for "Des vies dansent" since Nina and her team go to 4 continents to meet children to create a show each time.
The association 4 couleurs wanted to offer each child a silk stole in the colour of the continent: woven, dyed and made in France. Each piece is embroidered in Reims by Sublim Brodeurs, who personalise each stole with the logos of EVI and Quatre Couleurs. Each of the four continents has its own colour: red for France, blue for India, yellow for Africa and green for South America!
During the launch evening "Of Powder, Ash and Gold" we also wanted to help the association EVI to finalize its project with the sale of the painting of the Maharajah and the necklace (the two main characters of the book by Gwendoline Finaz de Villaine). Nina had returned from India the day before and was able to tell us all about her adventure in the Auroville orphanage, about ten kilometres north of Pondicherry in the state of Tamil Nadu in India. During her stay, 15 little girls between 8 and 12 years old created a dance show with Nina and her team. Reversing codes and stereotypes seemed essential to us as a partner. Little girls in India dancing with embroidered stoles made entirely in France, a pretty metaphor of hope for the future: children who go to school, play and dance!
