Amandine Albisson: sublime in Carmen by Mat Sek

Strong emotions during the last program of the season of the Swedish choreographer Mats Ek at the Palais Garnier! Throughout the show, "the dance makes the music visible"! His Bolero plays on absurdity and lightness, and can be savoured as such! But it is above all the entry into the repertoire of Carmen that we remember. Created in 1992, this ballet has lost none of its strength or its modernity and gives the audience a lesson in Mats-Ekian dance. Throughout the first part, Amandine Albisson offers us a breathtaking Carmen dancing to an atypical rhythm...large second pliés, extended legs and flexed feet, raw and virtuoso movements. Surrounded by dancers in fluorescent lamé dresses holding giant fans, Amandine Albisson radiates, dramatic and sensual!

L'Étoile Amandine offers us a mysterious, romantic and intriguing Carmen... Each of her outfits is a pure marvel! All of them are made in the workshops of the Garnier Opera House!

It is the dress with the red flounced train that particularly caught our attention, because it highlights all the know-how of the workshops but also the exemplary technicality of the star to give the impression of flying away in all lightness while the dress weighs several kilos... Bravo!
