PRESENTATION OF THE BOOK

"We are all Kintsugis at heart, pots cracked and damaged by life; except in the East, we repair broken pots with gold...

Eva Greville, twenty-seven years old, head of archives and heritage at Cartier, comes across a mysterious painting of Maharajah, which propels it magically into the past, in the heart of colonial India. Ahurie and shocked, the young woman finds herself in Bombay in 1912, accused of stealing the Eye of Idol, a necklace of diamonds of colossal value, intended for the ruler of Jaipur. From palaces of Rajasthan to the Ajanta Caves, from mystical India to the Ranthambore tiger hunt, Eva seeks to exculpate herself and lead the investigation, while succumbing to the charm of an irreducible Englishman, Hartford Wesley. Torn between the past and the present, the young woman will survive and face the ups and downs of the revolt of the Indian people, subject to the tutelage of the British Raj. Will she be able to solve the enigma of the necklace and choose between two identities, two destinies?

A cognac diamond, a journey back in time and a realm lost to unparalleled magnificence ... Eva Greville plunges into the adventure to forget her disastrous existence, to find herself and to rebuild herself. After the Mists of Grandville, discover the new saga of Gwendoline Finaz de Villaine, a great romantic fresco in the heart of India Maharajahs.
