To mark the publication of Gwendoline Finaz de Villaine's book "De poudre, de Cendre et d'or", a launch party was held in the flat of Misia Sert, a close friend of Coco Chanel, not far from the Place de la Concorde. The event focused on the aesthetics of early twentieth-century India. Elements of the book, such as the necklace and the painting of the Maharajah, were made for the occasion, as was the book jacket in inlaid leather covered in gold leaf.
The story depicts a grand romantic fresco in the heart of Maharajah India. The theft of a Maharajah's diamond, time travel and a lost kingdom of unrivalled magnificence... Eva Greville plunges into adventure to forget her disastrous existence, find herself and rebuild her life.
