Launch of drawing techniques teaching book
by Jean-Baptiste Stienne
An evening at the Hunting and Nature Club to celebrate the publication of the book "Études d'un dessinateur".We wanted to bring together a number of talented artists to create a beautiful and exciting way to showcase their work. demonstrating and applying the drawing techniques described by Jean-Baptiste Stienne in his book.
Jean-Baptiste Stienne, an architect by training, would like to share his practice and his inspirations with us. in order to demonstrate to us, through his ancestral approach, all forms of accessibility to drawing.
The book launch party was held at the Hôtel Guénégaud on 30 September 2021 in the company of our members. A few months earlier, he himself had restored this legendary building as a heritage architect. Arlaux champagne, Menue catering and Labene armagnac delighted the palate. Yury Revich also accompanied us on his Stradivarius!
Limited-edition invitation cards, produced in collaboration with calligrapher Sonia Da Rocha and graphic designer Anna Marchlewska, were distributed for the occasion to enable guests to discover the work of Jean-Baptiste Stienne.
The Hôtel de Guénégaud is a private mansion in the Marais district, built in 1652 and 1653 by François Mansart, and the only one built by this famous architect to survive today in its entirety.
A perfect example of a mid-17th century Parisian hotele Built in the 19th century, it comprises a main building between the courtyard and garden, two wings and a building overlooking the street. The overall impression is one of great sobriety. In the south wing, the hotel has preserved its admirable stone grand staircase, consisting of a double straight flight of steps, continued to the ground by curved steps laid out in a circular arc.
The hotel has been listed as a historic monument since 15 May. June 19621.
