An age-old love affair: paper and writing...

Between linen and cotton, the paper designer twirls in the middle of his multiple paper creations!

CROMATICO is the name of the paper created by paper master Émeric Thibierge. It was used for the invitation on which was printed the Taj Mahal revisited for the occasion by the graphic designer Anna Marchlewska and as a support for the press kit of the evening of February 11 which was distributed on this occasion. CROMATICO is a range of coloured tracing paper and envelopes inspired by glassblowers. The entire press kit was made of ORLON paper. A postcard and a bookmark were also made for the occasion!

Emeric Thibierge: "I was amazed one day to hear a little girl with the pretty name of Victoire say to her mother: "Isaure is lucky, her daddy has the most beautiful job in the world: he draws beautiful papers". I was amazed by such enchantment.

Creating a paper is an irrational outpouring of unexpected intuitions. But the revelations are hours of doubts and questions. Will the dream paper be beautiful? Will the technique chosen produce the sublime result? Will it be able to support the most audacious creations? Creating a paper is a fight against vulgarity. It takes a great deal of determination to face the horrors of the paper industry. Finally, a love of detail and perfection that has never been achieved, a frustrating quest for excellence that acts as a driving force.

The calligrapher: Stéphane Trillaud

All the invitations to the "Powder, Ash and Gold" evening were calligraphed by a master calligrapher, Stéphane Trillaud. Captivated by the alchemy of colours and textures, he spent his Wednesday mornings from the age of 7 onwards at the School of Decorative Arts in Blois until the age of 13. More attracted by lettering, logos and graphic design, he abandoned gural drawing to devote himself to the study of signs and symbols.

Caught up in his love of writing, he gradually turned to Latin calligraphy in the 90s, first for his own pleasure, then to train as a master calligrapher. He has been teaching for 3 years and started his own business in 2013.

The Graphic Designer: Anna Marchlewska

For the launch of Gwendoline Finaz de Villaine's book, Anna created the graphic design inspired by the cover of the novel "De Poudre, de Cendre et d'Or". A postcard of the Maharajah's painting and a bookmark were created for the occasion!

Anna Marchlewska is a graphic designer but above all a photographer of Polish origin who lives and works in Paris. After five years of study at the Beaux-Arts in Paris, she enriched her experience by collaborating with several luxury and ready-to-wear houses as a graphic designer and photographer.

In 2012, she changed her life completely: she left a comfortable position as visual identity manager at Lafont to become a freelance photographer and graphic designer.

Her credo: dare to live your life and take control of your destiny! Well done Anna!
