First edition of the Black & White Parade

Black and White PARADE NOEL 2019 Few collectives can boast of enriching French creation to this extent. Delphine Garnier heads the association Quatre Couleurs, whose mission is to defend the made in France creation, while instilling audacious transversalities between the crafts.

From 30 November to 1 December 2019, this young, prodigal and tireless woman is bringing her artists together at the Basfroi workshop in the 11th arrondissement of Paris for an event entitled the "Black and White Parade".

Behind the Bastille, this two-colour, graphic exhibition is held in an exceptional setting, a giant boat-like workshop designed by Mallet-Stevens. Resin, haute-couture, leather goods, drawing, photography, the event resounds like an ultra-joyous ode to French painting, fashion and craftsmanship, and reveals real talent, in tune with the times. With the help of painter Gwendoline Finaz de Villaine, Delphine Garnier offers a playful arty tour of this former sawmill with a New York loft feel, featuring ultra-talented portrait artist Jérémy Kapone, paper master Thibierge, jeweller Luc Kieffer, tailor Robert Kerr, Chamberlan shoes, Gantier Agnelle and Maison Vaincourt, the photographer Marlene Delcambre, the perfumes of Eléonore de Staël, the sculptor Marine Coutelas, the bag designer Gratianne Bascans, the photographer Anna Marchlewska, the sculptor Delphine Brabant, the furniture of Gwenaëlle Chassin de Kergommeaux, the cabinetmaker Jérôme Cordié, the jewellery of Youm Paris, the champagne of Arlaux, the Maison de Galluchat, the designer Fabrice Ausset... A Christmas market like no other, where the trees are works of art designed by artists, and where you can treat yourself to shagreen, a magic painting, Japanese paper, a custom-made perfume... The object must have a soul and be born from the meeting of the concept, the material and the human hand.

When you have the know-how, it can take a long time to do it. But the true artist is the one who has the ingenious art of painting the word and speaking to the eyes. Through the lines and figures drawn, he gives colour and body to our thoughts. The women who do-it-yourself and do-it-all are at the helm in this new place, and reiterate their passion for the 1920s, which saw the birth of the fertile friendships between Chanel, Cocteau, Picasso, Satie and Diaghilev.

Black and white has never been so chic and inspiring, and is still very much a game of checkers. www.quatre-couleurs.com.
